Toddler cookie decorating party

My daughter turned 2 on Friday – she’s growing up so fast and I’m not ready to admit that a whole 2 years has flown by in the blink of an eye.  My littlest baby is not so little anymore!

To celebrate her birthday, we hosted a cookie decorating party!  We had about 6-7 kids between 1.5 and 4 and plenty of adults that partook in the fun too. I baked the sugar cookies, filled little squeeze bottles with coloured icing, salt shakers with coloured sugar and had plenty of add-ons for the kids (the Gummy Worms were the biggest hit!).

This was probably the best idea ever for kids this age – they all sat at the table and put a LOT of effort into designing the perfect cookie. There was lots of running around too – but they were all so proud of their edible creations. Then, I packed up the completed cookies in a take-home container and the kids were able to enjoy even more sugar!

Thank you to every one that came and wished Sophia a happy birthday! I didn’t get the cake smash I dreamed my daughter would have when she turned one, but the cookie party was everything I hoped for (for her… lol) and more!

Maybe she overdid it with the pink sugar, just a little….

Sophia loves her cinderella shoes… for the record, not a bit like mum 😛

My sweet, darling, beautiful 2 year old (thanks to Bob for snapping this pic for me!)
