I have a lot of blogging to catch up, and I promise I’m getting to it! Hopefully I’ll have a bunch to put up for you all tomorrow. But, I do have one that I hold very close to my heart. Every year (since I was about my son’s age) I’ve volunteered with the North York Senior Games awards ceremony. It started out getting chairs out and handing out waters etc, and has in the 20 years or better since I started, evolved into being able to take photos of the seniors with their awards so they can download and print their pictures.
Well, this year was a special year. My sisters, grandfather, mom and I have been at this for[almost]ever, but this year I was joined by my son (and daughter). Ethan helped to hand out the information cards to the seniors, he helped in handing out the cake after it was cut, and together with my daughter, they handed out the goodie bags for the end of the night, and then cleaned up.
I honestly couldn’t be more proud of my family, and I’m so glad I’ve been able to be a part of this for as long as I have – I can only hope that my son will continue the tradition with his kids. 4 generations – Grandfather, Mother, Daughter, Grandson – thank you as always to the committee for including us!
