Even though I only met Melissa and Carmine a short time ago, I couldn’t wait to take their wedding photos yesterday. A nicer pair of people you’d be hard pressed to find! Bob spent some time before the ceremony with Carmine and his best man Paul at St. Paul’s Church in Brampton and I spent my time with Melissa, Christina (Hunny) and Rosa in the hotel getting ready. Melissa was a ball of nerves, a self proclaimed drama queen! But she snapped herself right out of it, and when all was said and done, she was stunning!
The church was a little difficult to navigate. They had very strict rules about photography during the ceremony – as in, you weren’t allowed any. We could snap shots as Melissa walked down the aisle, signed the license and walked back down the aisle. That was IT. So Bob and I had to bend the rules a little. Now, I wasn’t going to risk having the Minister stop the ceremony to tell us off, so we sat on the balcony and at the very back of the church and we tried to be stealthy. He didn’t glare us down, and there were no complaints, so it looks like we got away with it!
Then afterwards we went to the Peel Art Gallery and courthouse for some pictures – truly gorgeous location with a lot of vintage spots, as well as really modern spots to take some pictures. Then a quick jaunt to the railway to freeze our buns off! We made our way back to the Mississauga Convention Centre for the reception, and I have to give a BIG shout out to the staff there – as soon as you set down an empty glass,it was cleared away (without you ever really seeing the serving staff). The food was amazing, the DJ did a fantastic job – the mariachi band was incredible. And for their first dance, you could see the heat just radiating off them. Then, Melissa’s brother came out with a beautiful song and sang it to the bride and groom. There wasn’t a dry eye in the whole place, least of all Melissa and her Sister’s. Truly a wonderful evening that Bob and I were honoured to be a part of!
