Today I stepped a little out of my comfort zone for little Jude’s newborn photo session. If you’ve been following my site, you’ve probably noticed that I tend to take photos of babies settled into baskets, nuzzled up like they’re in a little nest. For some reason, I always felt more comfortable doing that style. But when I was contacted by Jude’s mum, she was hoping for the blanket and beanbag style shoot. Well, I spent most of the afternoon studying how to place him properly on the beanbag so he’d be comfortable, and so I’d get those amazing shots. I arrived with only one plan – nail the shoot exactly how Jude’s mom had wanted. And I have to say that I think she’s going to be pretty excited about the results!
It helped that Jude was an amazing little sleeper, and he was comfortable in pretty much any position we tried (with the exception of the ones facing forward) so for my first attempt at a complete session on the bean bag, he was an ideal model! I’m now happy to say that I’m a lot more comfortable with this style, and you’ll probably see more of it mixed in as the time goes on!
