I had a pretty incredible week in the Dominican Republic photographing Jacob and Justine’s destination wedding! I hear that I picked a good week to get out of here too – the frosty temps were sure not something I missed!! The weather was perfect, it was hot, sunny and the beach was beautiful. The ceremony took place at 4pm, and with a huge crowd of beach spectators, they tied the knot.
We got some really spectacular photos on the beach, and some of my favourites were done in the resort. The sun was setting, which makes for some really beautiful warmth in the pictures. We went back to La Hispaniola beach restaurant for steak and lobster dinner and cake, then to a private party on a terrace complete with DJ, tables and dancing. We partied all night and drank Mamajuana (the Dominican specialty liquor, its not my favourite :P) and then closed it down and went to the disco.
A truly wonderful day, and I was sad to say goodbye to the group on Sunday – and man was I sad to say goodbye to the beach on Wednesday! And then after a LONG day of travelling yesterday, we finally made it home at 2am this morning. I can’t believe they shut down Pearson!!
Anyways, I’m really glad to be home now, and I KNOW Justine will be DYING to see these teasers, probably from the lobby of the hotel with the free wi-fi 😛
