This blog post has been a long, long time coming! I first met Leigh-Anne & Eric at wedding show I did in Wasaga Beach (If I remember correctly?) back in 2019 – what feels like a very long time ago! They were set to be married in 2020 and we hit it off right away and I knew this was going to be an amazing wedding!
Then, 2020. And I know I don’t have to tell you how that went down – but needless to say, the wedding was on hold. It was so important to the both of them that they could celebrate with family that they knew they weren’t going to have a 10 person wedding 6ft apart. So 2021 it was! But then 2021 didn’t hold much more by way of letting them know they could have the party they dreamed of – so we postponed again. I believe we may have tried in 2022, but as the saying goes – on to the next one – and 2023 finally saw a time where the happy couple could have their family and friends together to support them on their wedding day.
Every time I spoke with Leigh-Anne I was reminded that there were so many important things in life that a simple day wasn’t going to get her down. Her and Eric loved each other and when the time was right, it would be perfect. And like the inscription they got in their rings, they truly are better together.
The day was hot but not too hot, and I arrived at the Muskoka bay resort just after lunch. Eric was getting ready down the road with his family and groomsmen and they were all smiles and jokes – laid back but you could feel the excitement in the air. And Leigh-Anne had her beautiful group of girls around her – none of which had seen the dress, and she bought it for their first wedding date! The back of the dress was adorned with jewels and when she came down the stairs to reveal the dress, the smiles on her bridesmaid’s faces were awesome.
The ceremony was beautiful and full of little personal touches that really drove home the importance of family and living in love. We set off some confetti poppers and off we went to do photos. My fave is still the solo photos by the lake. A delicious dinner, some heartfelt speeches and a couple dances on the terrace later and the night was over (for me) – I bet the rest of the party stayed up dancing all night!
Thank you for such an amazing time – I wish you both so much love!
