I was supposed to meet little Benjamin for his newborn photos almost a week before we finally got together, but a bout of the stomach flu took my house by storm! My kids were first, then my husband - and by some streak of incredible luck I missed this one. So, on Monday morning I finally got to meet this sweet little man!
Benjamin was sweet and sleepy when he first got here, and we got a couple really cute smiles. But he woke up and there was no getting him back to sleep! But he was such a mild tempered little one, that it wasn't a problem to get some beautiful shots!
Little Clark came to me on the weekend with his family - and I was transported back to when his big sister Peyton came to me for her newborn pictures. Where Peyton fought sleep, and wasn't overly pleased to do her pictures, Clark was easy and mild tempered. A little gassy though, we had the most incredible projectile vomit I've seen in a baby. But that calmed him right down and we were able to get some really wonderful shots!
Yesterday I met the most mild tempered little man, Lucas, for his newborn photo session. He slept fairly well, but wasn't too are of his posing. We gave him some time to settle in and it was worth it! And then when we moved to the family portion, sure enough Lucas had to pee - and we got some great shots of his little face as he prepped for soaking dad!
Thank you Kayla and Shawn, I hope you love these shots!
Sunday I met sweet little Evelyn for her newborn photo session. She was so sweet when I arrived, wide eyed but tired and she quickly fell into a deep sleep. The first half of the shoot went smoothly and quickly, and then it was time to move into the family portion of the session. This part was a little more difficult, Evelyn wasn't so tired anymore but she did have a couple special deliveries of us that required a couple clean ups. But the session ended wonderfully, and we got some really awesome shots - thank you so much for letting me photograph your sweet little angel!
Yesterday found me in Oakville to take Nikhil's newborn photos. I haven't seen the family in 2 years, since little Maya was born, but they were just as awesome as the first time I met them! Nikhil slept like a doll for the first half of the shoot, and only needed a little snuggling time to finish the second part of the shoot. Big sister Maya was fantastic, only realizing she was tired right near the end.
All in all, it was an awesome shoot, and I had a wonderful time meeting this family again!
Today I stepped a little out of my comfort zone for little Jude's newborn photo session. If you've been following my site, you've probably noticed that I tend to take photos of babies settled into baskets, nuzzled up like they're in a little nest. For some reason, I always felt more comfortable doing that style. But when I was contacted by Jude's mum, she was hoping for the blanket and beanbag style shoot. Well, I spent most of the afternoon studying how to place him properly on the beanbag so he'd be comfortable, and so I'd get those amazing shots. I arrived with only one plan - nail the shoot...
Little Olivia made her way into the studio today with Charles and Jessica. She was an amazing little girl that just wanted to smile the whole time. It didn't take much to coax those little smirks out, and I couldn't get enough of her! I can't wait to watch this little sweetheart grow!
Little Luke was so cute when he came into the studio! Mum and Grandpa had no idea there would be so much pee, mum was especially surprised when it sprayed right up to her face in the middle of a really awesome shot! But he was a doll - very particular about his hand placement, but once we agreed to let him run the show, it went so well!
Here's the gorgeous little guy!
Back from vacation, and I couldn't have started the week off better! Little Jocelyn was born on December 23rd, and was a happy little angel. Or at least I assume she is, she slept the whole time! The whole shoot took just over an hour, which is incredible - most newborns take much longer than that!
She settled so easily into the positions, and only disagreed a couple times about lying down. I couldn't have been happier about how today went!
I met with little Mason yesterday - he was completely adorable! He slept incredibly well and only chirped a bit when he was hungry. I couldn't get enough of snuggling with this little man.
All in all, the whole session was fantastic!
