Let me preface this blog by saying THANK GOD it warmed up for about an hour this afternoon when it started snowing! I knew I'd be trudging out in the snow to take some maternity photos, and I figured we'd be freezing our bums off! But warm up and snow it did and we got some truly beautiful outdoor photos before making our way into the studio for some equally awesome indoor (read: warm) shots!
One of my favourites is ALWAYS when I tell the dads to put their ears up to mums belly, the facial expressions always kill me! And today was no different! Laura, I can't wait to meet your little bundle...
Last night Lisa, Paul and Alexis came by the studio for their maternity photos and it was a riot! Want to know how to get a soon-to-be big sister to participate? Ply her with fruit gummies! We got some really awesome photos of Alexis with her mum's belly, and a couple cute shots that will make you laugh - but all in all, just watching how happy these three are, in anticipation of adding a new baby to the mix was just awesome for me.
And who wouldn't love this cheeky little face!?
I was so excited for today, because I knew what Bill and Nancy were having before ANYONE else! I couldn't be happier for these two, Bill and Nancy are very good friends of ours, and to be there today for the big reveal, well, it was nothing short of heart warming!
We had my laptop set up on a stool that was perched on a chair so that they could FaceTime Nancy's family in Montreal, and we had some family with us in the studio. It was a very emotional shoot, with tears and laughter to be had - and well, I guess I should tell you... pink or blue?
It's been a busy weekend, so I'm catching up on some blogs! Sandy and her beautiful family came to me on Friday for their maternity photos - you may remember their sweet little son, Lucas. I'm posting a black and white, but he has such beautiful blue eyes! There was a lot of singing and dancing, coaxing to get a smile and running around looking for a lollipop - but Lucas did a great job, and we got some fantastic photos for mum and dad who are expecting their second little one.
Thank you for coming up on a friday night and sharing your lives with me!
When Victoria called me to capture the incredible moment they found out what baby #3 was going to be, I was elated! What an exciting time for this family! They had their ultrasound and the tech wrote down the new baby's gender on a piece of paper, taped it together and put it in an envelope. Victoria dropped the envelope at the balloon store and told them to open the paper and thats the colour of balloons she needed. The store gave the note back and off they went. On Sunday, my husband picked up the balloons and I was so excited to see - PINK! Yep, this was going to be the third baby girl for this...
Thanksgiving Sunday I got to meet Laurie & Regis for their maternity photos. These two were awesome! You could tell just how excited they both were by the smiles on their faces the whole time. Regis fell right into his shots, and Laurie was glowing for all of hers! I can't wait to meet Simon-Pierre, I'm sure he'll be a whiz at this photo thing, just like mum and dad! He's due November 21st, just a couple days before My little girl's birthday - it's a great time to join the world!
Today I met the two coolest soon-to-be parents! I mean come on, to be expecting not one, but two babies AND to try and convince your wife to name one of them Luke "Skywalker"? Thats champ! I loved seeing all your personal touches - it always makes the shoot that much more fun :) It was so awesome spending some time with you both today! I can't wait to meet your soon-to-be Leafs fans!
Yesterday I had a pretty incredible family come to the studio for their maternity photos! This family already has 2 beautiful little girls and the parents don't know what they're having for baby #3! I love surprises!
The girls were so incredibly well behaved, and they loved jumping into photos and were all over mum's belly - it was just adorable to watch. We got some very classic poses, as well as a couple new ones and all in all I think that A & J will be very pleased with their session!
On Tuesday my son's BFF Ben came over with his parents and his little brother - and with baby Fisher #3 due to arrive any time now, we thought we'd do some maternity pics! Now, with 4 kids playing while we tried to take pictures, it was tough - especially with one of them potty training! We had maybe 10 minutes before it all went sideways and we had to come back home, but we got some fun ones in the mean time! My favourite is of little William pointing at where the baby is!
I had a dream last night that this one came so fast I missed the birth (again!) so here's hoping that he at least gives...
Ah, the golden hour - truly the best time to take photographs! Ed & Sarah came for their maternity photos today with their awesome dog Sookie. I worked with Krystal today, and slowly but surely, Krystal is thinking about joining the Jenn B team! That aside, we had a great time doing the maternity shots and when we made it to the train tracks, it was perfect! The lighting was glowing behind them - the mom-to-be was glowing in her own right. Some of my faves right here!
