I met Stephanie, her boyfriend and their 2 beautiful dogs a couple weeks ago for a little family style shoot. The weather was beautiful and the sun was in the sky at an absolutely perfect spot. We took a little to get the pups attention but once we got going (and remembered to give her a stick to chew on) the photos just flew by!
I had the pleasure to take my sister's family put for some family photos yesterday and it was definitely an experience. The thing about 3 kids is that when one is looking, the other two aren't, or they're crying. And on that off chance that you manage to get all 3 looking, it's likely because the parents have looked down at the kids!
But we plowed through and managed to keep the kids at least partly entertained, if not entirely happy the entire time, and the pictures turned out better than I could have hoped for!
I met with Karen and her gorgeous family to take their family photos in their backyard. Lucy and Lola were absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't get enough of their outfits (mom too!)
Thank you for letting me take your pictures for you - the smiles you guys showed are all so contagious!
Another shoot I had this weekend was the lovely Palmer family's photos. Warren, Cecelia and Cash came for what we thought was going to be a studio session. But the weather was so amazing, we decided to take it down to the little forest and field at the end of my road. Sometimes it's the simplest things that make the most beautiful backdrop - and this was so very true this time. The field has a gorgeous tree, in the middle of nothing. It's stunning!
Almost as stunning as this beautiful family!
I also had the pleasure of taking some photos for the beautiful Niffin Family over the weekend. We literally caught the very end of the golden hour, and the light was gorgeous. For a split second. :P
But we moved fast, and the kids did so incredibly well - I couldn't have asked for a better family to top off my weekend! And since I know if it were me, I'd be stalking the blog waiting for my family to show - I'm going to stop wasting time and just show you some teasers!
Just because, I love photographing my kids and niece (and would have been nephews too, if my sister would give me all the kids! Instead I keep having to steal one at a time!!)
Anyways, here are some christmas shots we took, to get the Christmas cards out!
Well, that season is almost upon us, and with it comes the Christmas mini sessions! Here are a couple of my favourites from the first couple shoots! More to come!
Another one of my shoots from the weekend was some family photos for Nicola and David's beautiful family. We met at Sunnidale park, which, while I'm used to it being busy - was incredibly crowded! Saturday was a rain day, so there were double the people at the park. But it was no big deal - all my favourite spots were open and we slid right in and took some absolutely stunning photos!
Thank you to Nicola and David, your family is beautiful!
The first in a long line of blogs from the weekend starts with the family photos for the McEvoy family. We met downtown at the Yoga studio to take some pictures with both the urban backdrop, and then hopped across the street to the lakefront to take some shots there.
It was a beautiful day, sun was shining - it was a bit chilly, and the wind ended up getting me right near the end. But for the shoot, it was perfect. Our code word for the day was "Sassypants". And it was a sure fire way to get Landon to smile! I couldn't have asked for more smiles than I got from this family. I'm looking through...
There's nothing more rewarding for a photographer than to have a good shoot - and when the kids in the family know you, it's even better - getting the good smiles out of them is easy! We had to offer up some M&Ms at one point, but aside from that, it was simple.
And the colours were perfect, the dogs were well behaved - honestly, not a single moment was difficult to organize!
Thank you so much to the Moore family for having me capture these gorgeous shots!
