Continuing on our journey through the orchard tonight, I met with a couple families - and Leah's family was my last one for the night. Ben and Lucy rocked it, and had a great time playing with the glitter at the end. I had to stop and tell Leah that its just not fair, being so beautiful!
There were a lot of smiles and a lot of hugs - some really genuine laughs! I can't get enough of these!
My evening in the apple orchard continued last night with an old friend - Diane, Rob and their girls looked perfect for their session! Diane let me know that they haven't done family photos since we did their youngest, Reese's newborn photos, and look at her now - all grown up.
The light was getting better by the minute, and the girls were full of perfect smiles. It was a real pleasure being able to capture these moments for them.
Tonight was the reschedule day for my Apple Orchard Spring Mini sessions - the location didn't disappoint! The blooms were stunning and the families that joined me were even more so.
We started with this beautiful family - Katie is my previous neighbours' sister, and we unfortunately lost my neighbour to more land and rural living, which is something I can totally get behind! this beautiful family met me at Avalon Apple Orchards and we got started with the sweet golden light. Little Abby stole the show with that BEAUTIFUL smile of hers and made it such an enjoyable evening.
Just look at that...
I haven't blogged in a while, and I promise I'll change that - life got away from me, and it's not that I wasn't shooting! But you all love my teasers so I'll hit you with a bunch of them as soon as I can!
To start, we'll bring up Sam, Peyton and Clark - I've been seeing Peyton since she was just a baby and she's grown into such a beautiful little lady! And clark has finally decided I'm worthy of a smile, and I'm so glad I held out - this kids' smile could light up a room! We played with some glitter to get some sparkling goodness, and it didn't disappoint.
Fresh spring photos on a fresh...
This family session was a tough one! I've known these kids since they were born, so I anticipated that they would just sit and smile for me - whoops! The wanted to make funny faces and run in the waves - so thats what we did! Parents have this idea that your kids want to just sit and smile nicely for the camera, when in reality they just want to run and have fun - allowing them to play gets those genuine smiles that we all want so badly!
So, despite chasing them around to different spots, we managed a couple really awesome photos - and some even nicer candid ones!
Sweet little Merrick came to my studio over the weekend for his cake smash session, and what a treat it was! We set up a dinosaur theme and got Merrick in front of his cake and it was all we could do to get the cake down before he wanted right into it! Merrick was so excited to play in the cake that he almost forgot to eat it, but when he finally realized how delicious it was, there was no stopping him!
It was quite the coincidence that Merrick's parents recognized me from when they sold their home - some of you may know that I also do some videography for the Mark Faris Team in Barrie. Usually...
Sunday morning was an early one - but waking up with the sun for family photos is oh-so-worth it! The soft sun is the best first thing in the morning and right at the end of the day. Chris, Sarah and the kids came up to my favourite ravine with coffee in hand to grab some great family photos to hang in their new home.
It was chilly, but we stayed warm enough in the sun, and there was a lot of giggling and smiles to go around.
Can't wait to see some new photos hung up around your house!
Deborah was celebrating her 60th birthday a week ago and her kids got together to hire me to be their photographer for the event. They surprised her with some memories that I hope will bring a smile to her face when she looks back upon them.
When I arrived, she was decked out in all the gear you'd expect your kids to dress you in for your 60th birthday - crazy glasses, many beaded necklaces, including one with a shot glass on it! We took some photos of all her friends and family relaxing in their beautiful backyard and then some group shots of everyone having her son Launie's signature margaritas...
I walk through the stores and already it's back to school! And back to school means fall is on the way - and that means I'm about to be overrun with requests for fall family photos! I'm encouraging my clients to book as soon as they can, because more often than not I have to end up turning clients away because I'm fully booked - don't let this happen to you!
All fall sessions are going to be taken in Barrie, 3 locations are available (if you have a preferred location, I'd be happy to check it out!) in the few hours prior to sunset (generally 4pm-6pm). Please note that my weekend availability...
Shane and Sam have me come do their family photos often more than once a year - but even when we don't get together in the fall I can always count on them inviting me to Melissa's family home to meet up with her family for their extended family photos.
Every year, we do similar shots. And while I love to get a little creative, my favourite part of this is that we are able to compare the shots year over year and see how their beautiful family has grown. This year, we welcome a new baby to the family!
The property is beautiful and the early morning sun, while a little brighter than I would...
