I can't believe it's been almost a whole year since I first met Payton in my studio for her newborn/3 month photos, and now she's turning one! She's a lot friendlier with me now than she was then, thats for sure :P
Mom worked really hard for this cake smash, baking a beautiful big purple cupcake. There was so much icing, my nose is all stuffed and yet I could STILL smell the sugar! Payton was all smiles for her "pre" pics, but when we brought out the cake she was totally unsure - it was reminiscent of my own daughter's cake smash as it was ALL tears! But hey, it's her party and she'll cry if she wants...
I can't believe that it's been almost a whole year since my niece was born! Emma came over today for her cake smash session, and she is literally one of the ONLY babies that I had that sat there from beginning to end just eating cake. There was no throwing, no crying, no trying to crawl away, no begging for mommy... there was ONLY cake. It was an absolute pleasure to watch Emma devour her cake and just love it - then we got a couple great cousin shots in the end and into the bath the 3 of them went!
Emma, you're such a beautiful, happy little girl and I'm very blessed to have you in my life!...
On Saturday, my family and I made our way to St. Catharines for my second cousin's first birthday and cake smash session. We met at a really incredible park with the most amazing jungle gym I've seen and the splash pad certainly helped to cool the kids down! The party was a blast and when all was said and done, we sat little Noah down in front of the world's biggest cupcake and let him go to town! Noah rocked his shoot as he always does, and the expressions in the pictures are just killing me! What a cutie!
Happy birthday little man - we love you!
Yesterday I was in Brampton to see Aliyah for her cake smash photos - I really can't believe it's been a year since I did her newborn photos! She's grown up so much - and she loves dancing :P We tried to get some smiles out of her for the first little bit, until Brian had an epiphany and out came the Handy Manny theme song. Want to see a little angel shake and dance with HUGE smiles? Put on Handy Manny for her!
So we got some beautiful family pictures, then came inside to get Aliyah into her cake - there was NO apprehension there. Most babies are a little nervous about getting into their...
I can't believe Noah's turning one, and it's time to do his cake smash photos! I've known Noah's mum since I was 13 - we've been best friends for as long as I can remember. I was there to do her maternity, newborn, family, Christmas, couples etc etc etc photos and now I'm here for Noah's birthday (which, coincidently was the day after my birthday!)
Noah is such a little doll, he's going through a bit of a mum phase, so keeping him in his set was a challenge, but he loved the icing on the cake and with a little coaxing, he got in to it pretty well! He was covered from head to toes by the time...
All my little newborns are growing up so quickly! I met Nina and Colin when they were expecting, and then again when Lexie was born - and was it ever cool seeing her at her cake smash :)
Lexie was such an adorable little angel - all smiles and sitting so pretty in her gorgeous chair, I couldn't get enough of her! We had a couple really cute outfit changes, and then brought out the cupcake, which she was apprehensive about - but she liked it. There were NO tears, which I was super happy about. And while we didn't get a lot of smashing happening, we got some awesome shots!
Thank you Nina and Colin...
Robert and Carla came up today for Joshua's first birthday cake smash - my second of the day... any idea what I was craving today? LOL
What a little doll this guy has become - the first picture I'm going to post is basically how the first part of the shoot went - basically "grab him, hurry, he's going to get away!" Joshua was full of beans today, that is until we brought out the cake. He was ok for the first couple minutes, and then turned into one big hot mess that did't want ANYTHING except mom.
We managed to distract him for some pretty awesome shots - I'm really happy with how my cake...
About a year ago, I met little Josiah - what a little charmer this guy has become! He was a stubborn little guy for his newborn shoot, but we still got some great photos, and he was no different this time - he only wanted to smile when he had Daddy running around and playing peek-a-boo, otherwise it was an "it's my party, I'll cry if I want to" kind of shoot! He's grown so much since I saw him (obviously) and was just adorable for his shoot! Thank you Danielle and Nathaniel for bringing little Josiah back - I love watching my newborns grow!
I can't believe a whole year has gone by since Brady was born! He's grown so much since his newborn shoot, and he's such an adorable little guy - perfectly behaved for his whole party.
Brady's family asked me to come to their party to do a real, live cake smash! It was so awesome to be able to photograph his actual cake smash, instead of 'faking it' before hand - everyone was there to get him smiling and the cameras were all clicking away.
Brady didn't disappoint, and he did a fantastic job smashing up his cake - happy birthday Brady!
I can't really describe what it's been like for me to be able to be there for people when they're getting married, pregnant, having kids and then the kids grow up. It's so amazing to watch these families grow!
I met Dana and Jon the first time at their friend's wedding and then again after the birth of their son. I've seen Dana since then at Graedon's newborn pictures and now we're back again for Ryker's cake smash!
Ryker looked adorable in his little suit, and he was so quick to get into his cake - his whole opinion of the situation changed rather quickly though, and after a short while, he was completely...
