Sweet little Merrick came to my studio over the weekend for his cake smash session, and what a treat it was! We set up a dinosaur theme and got Merrick in front of his cake and it was all we could do to get the cake down before he wanted right into it! Merrick was so excited to play in the cake that he almost forgot to eat it, but when he finally realized how delicious it was, there was no stopping him!
It was quite the coincidence that Merrick's parents recognized me from when they sold their home - some of you may know that I also do some videography for the Mark Faris Team in Barrie. Usually...
Grayson was in the studio the other day, and he was the absolute twin of his older brother Ethan (who's cake smash we did in 2016). And while the looks were similar, Grayson wasn't as into the cake as Ethan was! He enjoyed the balloons and was into the cake for about a millisecond, and then he made us work hard for the shots with the smiles. But oh boy was it worth it!
I mean, look at this beautiful face!
And for good measure - this was Ethan - SO similar!
My darling little nephew is one! The time has just flown by since I was capturing his birth - and now, he's one. Wow. Anyways, I surprised my sister by bringing try backdrops and a cake over to her house for an impromptu cake smash. And true to form, she was already prepared with some jeans, a little hat and suspenders.
Henry didn't waste a drop of cake, he loved every single bite! Happy birthday darling boy!
On the weekend I met with Clark for his cake smash session. Just like with his sister, it was a tough go! Clark started very happy - smiles and giggles at me when I tickled his feet. But when I moved him into the area with the backdrop, Clark suddenly became very upset! We spent a lot of time trying to soothe him, letting him sit with mum - mum even ended up covered in more cake than Clark did!
Regardless of whether we got smiles or not (and we did get a few!), I tend to love the "It's my party I'll cry if I want to" cake smash sessions!
These two kiddo's were absolutely hilarious for their first big birthday cake smash! They had matching outfits, matching cakes - but they were so different! Willow was much more of a camera hog than her sister - either that or she just really wanted to smile about the cake! The two of them devoured the frosting, ate chunks of the cake, and generally made a big mess :P
But who couldn't just love them, despite the mess... look at them, they're adorable!
I had the pleasure of seeing Mason in the studio the other day for his cake smash. What a treat he was, full of smiles, but very wary of the cake. He didn't want to eat it, barely even touched it the whole time! But his little smiles were really all I needed to get some absolutely gorgeous shots of him!
Check out this gorgeous little face!
I got to head out to Georgetown to see Lia for her birthday - she's changed so much since her newborn shoot! Lia wasn't a fan of the icing on the cake AT ALL. As soon as her toe touched the icing, she was all tears. Big brother Cameron really loved the cake, and wasn't afraid to dive right in.
I'm not sure what she was so unhappy about - I tried the cake and it was delicious!
I had the pleasure of photographing Hudson's birthday cake smash the other day. He was an absolute treat (as was the cake!) the whole time, flashing us lots of great smiles. I'm very lucky to be a part of this little man's life, and his big brother Noah's too!
Can't wait for your birthday party little man!!
I've been withholding this blog so my sister could share her invitation for little Georgie's birthday. I can't believe my nephew is turning one already, the time goes by way too fast! He's walking now, and watching him grow is amazing!
We set him up for his smash, and he barely made it into a shot before he attacked the cake! It was incredible watching him really get into it, and then sharing the cake with mum and his sister - just adorable!
