This blog post has been a long, long time coming! I first met Leigh-Anne & Eric at wedding show I did in Wasaga Beach (If I remember correctly?) back in 2019 - what feels like a very long time ago! They were set to be married in 2020 and we hit it off right away and I knew this was going to be an amazing wedding!
Then, 2020. And I know I don't have to tell you how that went down - but needless to say, the wedding was on hold. It was so important to the both of them that they could celebrate with family that they knew they weren't going to have a 10 person wedding 6ft apart. So 2021 it was!...
It has been a long two years without my camera in my hands. There are many days that I really miss photography - so when my sister started planning her wedding, I couldn't imagine not being involved in the photography, at least a little! And we are very lucky to have Bob who graciously donated his time and talent to taking the photos I couldn't.
Madison's day started bright and early at Casino Rama with her bridesmaids and sisters, nieces, mom and soon to be mother in law. We had coffee and laughs while getting our hair and makeup done, and then it was time to start getting dressed. Madisons...
They say rain on your wedding day is lucky - and getting married on the evening before halloween - that has to be lucky. If you have black candles in candelabras and skulls in your flowers - all lucky. Honestly Jade and Joe are the luckiest 2 people out there now that they have each other.
When I arrived at Northbrook Farms, the girls were all piling out to get into the bridal prep area. They were organized and ready to go with lots of laughter and plenty of hugs. Jade looked beautiful in her dress, adorned with accents to remind her of her late father. We did a first look under the covered...
This wedding has been a long time coming - like all weddings planned in 2020 Emily and Liam booked me to photograph their wedding and things turned for the worse when the world shut down. But everything worth doing is worth waiting for, and this wedding was no exception. I could see Liam stealing glances at Emily all day. The world could explode around him, and he wouldn't notice - it was Emily and only Emily.
We met at the Mill in Cobourg and Bob went to take some initial shots of the boys while I went upstairs to the girls prep. The backdrop was stunning and they were all in such great spirits,...
On the weekend I was honoured to be a guest at the wedding of Stephanie and Calder. This wedding held such a special place in my heart because Stephanie has been around since she was probably 8 or 9, so I've watched her grow up! Holding back the tears was a toughie at this wedding, but I mostly held it together and we got some really beautiful pictures.
The wedding took place at Murphy's Farm and the decor, food and venue were absolutely incredible. Not to mention the desserts. Did I mention the desserts? *Drool*
Look at these two - they're just beautiful. And their family is beautiful - my heart...
In October I met Lynda and Andre for their wedding in Orillia - and what a stunning location! I must have somehow missed posting the blog so I've very late and I apologize but I always say it's better late than never - and I appreciate all my clients and fans for waiting so patiently!
These two were made for each other. I see a lot of romance at weddings so thats not new to me - but to see such absolutely genuine smiles from the beginning to the end - and not just smiles but laughter! They made me feel so welcome, and I loved being a part of their day!
Lynda's dad was a little emotional...
On a day that promised rain Lisa and Scott got married in the warm, filtered sun. We started the day in the firehall where Scott works - prep photos were complete with fun burnout's in the car and boys being boys with the firetruck. The girls prep was surprisingly laid back - Lisa had the kids just wanting to be with her, and she took a few moments to do just that. The backyard ceremony overlooking the hills and valleys below was the most beautiful backdrop and the smiles on the faces of all their loved ones filled my heart.
I'm so happy to have been a part of their day, and I wish them a lifetime...
Anyone that has welcomed an animal into their home knows there is a connection that you have - it's more than just an animal in your home, they are a part of your family. I've raised 2 children up to love animals and they have already donated their time raising money and supplies for the Barrie SPCA, and I myself am a foster and supporter with Precious Paws Rescue. My whole life I had dogs, and my grandmother was always preaching about rescue animals. Our first pup as a family was an elderly rescue and we welcomed a puppy from Northern Ontario into our home to foster before sending him off to his furever...
Continuing on our journey through the orchard tonight, I met with a couple families - and Leah's family was my last one for the night. Ben and Lucy rocked it, and had a great time playing with the glitter at the end. I had to stop and tell Leah that its just not fair, being so beautiful!
There were a lot of smiles and a lot of hugs - some really genuine laughs! I can't get enough of these!
My evening in the apple orchard continued last night with an old friend - Diane, Rob and their girls looked perfect for their session! Diane let me know that they haven't done family photos since we did their youngest, Reese's newborn photos, and look at her now - all grown up.
The light was getting better by the minute, and the girls were full of perfect smiles. It was a real pleasure being able to capture these moments for them.
